Joeboy
I have an HP Pavilion ze4325us with 256MB memory installed (256MB 266MHz 200pin PC2100 SO-DIMM). Your PC configurator says that I need VS512SDS266, memory type DDR-266 (PC-2100) SODIMM, to add 512MB of memory to my system. I purchased a 512MB DDR1 333MHz PC2700 at Fry's. The salesman said that the PC2100 was no longer available and that the one he sold me would work. When I installed it in my PC and booted it up, I cannot see that it discovered it. On the memory display, it still says that I have 192MB installed. Is there something else I need to do to make this work, or did I get the wrong memory for my PC? Thanks, Joeboy
Wired
What is the part # of your new memory? Is it Corsair memory?
Joeboy
It is Corsair memory. VS512SDS333/EU G
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2008 Due to the density of the VS512SDS333 it will not work in your system. You need the VS512SDS266. The max density your notebook will support is x32 and the 333MHZ versing is x64. That is the notebook is only recognizing half of the RAM.
Joeboy
Thanks Ram Guy. I had about decided that it was something like that. I will get the memory that you suggested. My PC has 256MB currently. Do you know if there is a problem putting a 512MB module in the second slot? Thanks again
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2008 Bottom line, it's always best to use idenctical modules in a specified system.
