apmorgan
Motherboard BIOS is 0904. First time building/OCing. This is the only settings so far that get me a stable system. Setting XMP profile 1 or 2 produces overclocking failure. If I change the DRAM frequency to a higher setting overclocking fails. Shouldn't I be able to get DRAM frequency to DDR3-1600?? Any suggestions on optimizing performance would be appreciated. Yoxxy
Updated them a bit, should work now. Simple answer is FSB Termination needs to be a bit higher to send move voltage through a board as with 4 gigs it tends to be that there is a little bit more interference. Same thing goes for the NB. I would also recommend good airflow over the memory and NB. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2008 Command Rate should be 2t but the other setting should run great!
apmorgan
I made the three tweaks suggested: FSB Termination Voltage:_1.44v North Bridge Voltage:____1.44v (bios allows only odd values i.e. 1.43v) Command Rate=2T On Boot post Memory still says ddr3-1066. The interesting thing is that Asus Probe reports that FSBT values of 1.39V -- does this vary from my explicit Bios setting of 1.44v. Also when I use bios auto settings FSBT=1.14v and boot post says memory is ddr3-1333, in this case cpu is not overclocked however. My goal is to get memory to ddr3-1333 or ddr3-1600 this would be better correct? and my motherboard/memory should support this right? Thanks for any help. Yoxxy
Under DRAM-Frequency Auto, You should also select PC3-1600. Forgot to list that part. I apologize.
apmorgan
Still no luck. I selected DDR3-1600 for DRAM frequency, and get overclocking error on boot up. I also tried it at DDR3-1333 to no avail. It also didn't work with only 2 Gig or memory that had run clean on Memtest for 16 hours. Also why doesn't this work with XMP profile 1, I thought the whole point of XMP was that memory and the motherboard would get it right? Thanks for the help. hammerjacks
I have a QX9650 with ASUS Max. Extreme with TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHXIN and here are my settings: Make sure you have the sticks in the color coded slots, this will ensure your running in Dual Channel. CPU Ratio: 10 FSB Freq: 400 DRAM Freq: DDR3-1600 <--- seems to be where my problem is 7-7-7-14 My box boots and runs fine... but once I start playing games I have noticed the system crashes. When I change DRAM Freq. to AUTO, it seems rock stable... but, I want to know if I can get the memory running faster (ie. DDR3-1600) and if there are any settings i am missing? Yoxxy
Download CPU-Z and tell me how many mhz your ram is really running at. In the older boards it would boot based on what your divider was. So 1:2 was called DDR3-1066 and such. Kind of stupid.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 hammerjacks What do you have the memory Voltage set to? I would try it at 1.8-2.0 Volts Max. apmorgan Let's get them replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them. doeyourthing I am happy to answer anyone if you have a legitimate question! doeyourthing
They block me because they dont want to hear the truth @add RAM GUY doeyourthing I am happy to answer anyone if you have a legitimate question! Listen my friend, If someone has a problem and you say that you of corsair has test the memories on the motherboard, why you send everyone back to the MB maker. people are ask you here what to do of how to set the memories, and you say see/read the manual of contact your MB maker. What for help you are giving then, we are not blind we have took in the manual. This memories are verry verry expensive. what you think that this thing cost $1 and we will say dont wory we will buy another memories and see if they work. No man this things cost overall above the $600.
Wired
They block me because they dont want to hear the truthYou're not being blocked from posting. I have combined your accounts as having multiple accounts is not allowed, nor is attempting to go around said rules. If someone has a problem and you say that you of corsair has test the memories on the motherboard, why you send everyone back to the MB maker.Ram Guy has answered you in a previous post. The settings are published for the specific Modules with relation to the test platform, the settings listed for any module should translate to any other MB. But there are just to many MB's for me or any one else to remember all the specific settings for a specific MB. However, if you read my posts you ill see if I know them for a specific MB I will post them. If you have trouble with this I would suggest contacting the MB maker to help you translate the settings for you as they wrote the BIOS they would be the best place to get help with their BIOS and how to navigate the BIOS. Or you are welcome to call our Tech support when you are in front of your system and we will do our best to help you. Also: Please see the Performance Reports on these modules and other like modules to get an idea of the MB's and what we did to run them at the tested settings. I have posted some troubleshooting steps in the other thread you posted in: http://www.asktheramguycom/forums/showthread.php?t=65738 Please try those steps and post back (in that thread) with the results. JPR122
Bios 1001 I tried to use the settings that Yoxxy has but some seem to be locked out in my bios. I am running the 1800 memory and not the 1600. The only way I can get the system running is to change the AI Overclock Tuner from [Auto] to [CPU Level Up], all the other Extreme Tweaker settings are stock. I do get memtest errors when running it on the same machine although I did run it for 3 hours and there were no errors/problems. Is the memory bad, do I need to update the timings, do I wait for a new bios, or do I have a bad motherboard. I just received information from a moderator on the Asus site stating that my Antec 850 watt PS may be the problem. Are they just trying to pass the buck or is it legitimate? From Asus Moderator: "Also Antec Quattros, both the 850 & 1000 watt models, have big relay issues when paired up with a NVidia based 8800 G92 chipset VGA. Therefore your issue may be PSU related." Any suggestions/comments?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 7, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 7, 2008 Please read the whole thread as I have answered most of your questions previously in this thread. But bottom line you would need to over clock the CPU to 450 Mhz to be able to run these modules at their tested settings. And I would agree with ASUS as we have seen that type of issue with some PSU's as well.
JPR122
RAM Guy, I apologize for my stupidness but I still have some concerns. I put all the numbers in, I thought some of the items were locked out, but I needed to key them in directly. DRAM Voltage: 1.9V for 4 GB -- I only have 2 GB. Should I use 1.9v? FSB Termination Voltage: 1.44V (this is yellow, 1.42 is yellow, 1.40 is green) North Bridge Voltage: 1.44v -- I have 1.43v or 1.45v (I picked 1.43) It boots up as DDR3-1066 is this a concern? I thank you for your assistance. Please read the whole thread as I have answered most of your questions previously in this thread. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 8, 2008 The other poster has 2 2.0 Gig modules and they would be the same 1.9 Volts and your CPU would have to over clock to 450 MHz to run them at the modules tested settings and you have to set the memory frequency manually.
