bjobby
Hi, I have a intel 865PE "D865PERL" dual channel 400mhz board with 1 pair of CMX512-3200C2 modules running at 2-3-3-6. An ebayer advertised this model for the second pair which I won the bidding but actually shipped me a different model, CMX512-3200LLPT v1.2 modules running at 2-3-2-6 T1?. Anyway can I have advice as to whether the new set will run reliably with the existing set at 2-3-3-6 please. This will save the ebayer $20US in wasted postage charges. :(:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 14, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 14, 2008 With that MB and 4 modules I would suggest setting them to DDR333 at Cas 2.5-3-3-7 because that MB will not let you set the memory Voltage to the required 2.75 Volts. But even it would I would still suggest DDR333 and or at least Cas 2.5-3-3-7 with 4 modules.
bjobby
Thanks RAM Guy, Would your advice be the same if he had shipped the same model RAM? I ask, as I did an upgrade to my kids computer which is a MSI Neo865PE PFISR?? and didn't play with voltages - only set it to 2-3-3-6. its been fine with 4 in it. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 15, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 15, 2008 Yes but if the system is stable I would leave it alone.
