Pyro_Fox
I just purchased and installed a Corsair HX520W Power Supply From Fry's electronics. It was shrink wrapped and everything. after installing it I tried to power on my computer and all my anticipation shattered when nothing happened. Long story short I did a couple more tests and upon further inspection of the device I came to find a wire missing from the ATX connection. There was no lead, no wire, no evidence that it was ever there. after looking it up, I found that the wire that is missing is the white -5v wire (pin 20 in a 24-pin connection) I have NEVER seen a PSU w/o one so I assume it to be a manufacturing defect but I wanted to confirm that. Any help would be appreciated.
EliteKiller
The -5V was removed from the ATX spec several years ago, so it's perfectly normal for ATX 2.01 & up psu's to exclude them.
Pyro_Fox
Can you link me somewhere to confirm this? even using wikipedia I have found nothing that confirms it. this is actually a picture of the ATX specifications from Wikipedia. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2280/2193210306_2806e5c762.jpg (as said before it's the white one missing)
