acemorgan
Will there be any plans to have 4gb kits for the dominator extreme series or would it have to stay in the XMS extreme series? hopefully in the very near future when 3.2Ghz yorkfield proccessors comes out. I'm anxiously waiting for like a 4096 Megabytes of DDR3 memory (Two matched 1800mhz or 2000mhz modules) for my Asus Rampage Extreme X48chipset board. I know they say that you only use 2 of the memory slots for going 1800mhz or over and the max. limit is 8GB for 4 x DIMMs, so for using those only 2 slots I can go 4gb right? If corsair could and or will make them I hope is possible. Also Im wondering about the specs they say has to be a 1.8volts for the DIMMs with that X48 chipset. It doesnt look like corsair makes any lower than 2.0V as of yet. Would this matter?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2008 The memory Voltage for DDR3 is 1.5 Volts but most of our modules about 1333 MHz are 1.7 Volts or higher up to a max of 2.0 Volts for DDR3.
