ASUS P5B Deluxe Wifi + TWIN2X2048-6400 problems

I recently acquired a 2nd set of TWIN2X2048-6400 from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145590) to expand my system from 2GB to 4GB of memory in preparation of moving from Vista 32-bit to Vista 64-bit. My motherboard is a ASUS P5B Deluxe w/WiFi flashed to v1216 BIOS with an E6600 processor overclocked to 3.0ghz (fsb 333mhz).

I'm using the default SPD configuration as read by the BIOS. After installing the 2nd pair of modules, I'm unable to run the memory at 4:5 ratio (~833 mhz) and have to set the memory to 1:1 ratio (~667 mhz) to run stably otherwise I get blue screens/instant reboots during Vista startup.

I've tried upping the dimm voltage settings in the BIOS all the way up to 2.25V in an attempt to achieve stability but it seems that upping the voltage has absolutely no effect on stability as I still get blue screens/instant reboots during Vista startup.

Any suggestions on how to get this memory running back somewhere close to it's rated speed? My real issue here is that the original pair of dimms in the system will overclock all the way up to ~1000 mhz @2.1V with the default SPD timings before I start seeing instabilty.

My short testing @667mhz with memtest86 showed no errors on the memory so for the moment I'm going to proceed with the assumption that there is nothing wrong with the dimms themselves. I'll will definitely run longer memtest86 sessions at various speeds this weekend to gather more data.

On to your advice about the NB voltage. I'll try upping the NB voltage and report back. However, I'm curious... is there some known issue with the ASUS P5B & 965 chipset and having 4 banks occupied?

The AMI BIOS for this board doesn't specify what the default voltage should be for the NB so I tried 1.45v and 1.55v respectively with the ram set back to 4:5 ratio (~833 mhz). Memtest detected errors within 10 minutes on both settings.

Any other suggestions?
