NewBuild
I'm stuck between the two. I know i'm on a corsair forum here, but which psu is actually better and why? Since seasonic make the HX series anyway, is there anything other than price between them? Currently the HX620 is more than the m12 600 i was looking at (only by £2). So which is best? EliteKiller
The HX series is based on the M12 platform and built to Corsair's specs. The HX series uses better caps, has a single 120mm fan (M12 has a 120mm + 60mm) which is quieter, plus you get a 5yr. warranty vs. 3yr. on the M12. Seasonic has a new M12 II which excludes the 60mm fan and offers Windows Vista support. :p: http://www.seasonicusa.com/images/M12II/01.jpg
NewBuild
Thanks! The better caps, db and warranty has sold it to me. I'll go for that for £2 more :)

JoeBob
offers Windows Vista support. :p: A bit OT, but.... I know the Vista certification is used "frivolously" by many manufacturers, but I just have to ask (being too lazy to check it out myself :P ), does it really matter in this case? I don't see a PSU really caring about what OS the computer is running, same as for instace RAM. (Which seems to be SLI and Vista certified and whatnot these days). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 10, 2008 You would have to contact the manufacturer to be sure what the rating means, however I would assume that it just means that the PSU is compatible with Windows Vista. Any PSU should be "compatible" with Windows Vista, as long as the PSU meets the power requirements of the components in the system.
