Lazyboi123
Hi Ramguy Ive been trying to upgrade my pc's memory to TWIN2X2048-6400. And all I keep getting on my Abit AB9 Mboard is a C1 error. I have updated my bios and have tried using slots 1 and 3 and then 2 and 4 but keep getting the same error. I also tried using the sticks as singles, but again this did not work. I have not changed any bios settings from the standard. Any help or advise would be appreciated Cheers
bigbuck08
Im not familar with the Abit motherboard codes so forgive me. Will it allow you to get into the BIOS at all? If it does load BIOS defaults and test with Memtest. How To Use Memtest

Lazyboi123
Hi Ramguy I put my old memory back in which was:- Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 1024MB Just been reading on another forum that i might need to reset my cmos still or up the voltage to 2v for the memory. Are any of these options worth exploring? I updated my bios using the Abit windows updater if that helps
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 10, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 10, 2008 Yes, get the latest BIOS and then load setup defaults and then exit the BIOS saving changes and then before it completes the post and starts to Boot turn it off and change the memory and see if it will post. Lazyboi123
Hi Ram Guy Just a bit of feedback. I got the memory working, what i had to do was up the voltage to 2v and also clear the cmos by moving the jumper on the motherboard. The windows based bios updater i used (Flash menu) did not seem to fully clear the cmos, even though i had this option set. Thanks for all your help
