HX620 + Asus P5E WS loud tone from onboard sound

I purchased a HX620 to replace an Antec Truepower I had that was a couple of years old and with their failure rate I figured I should be safe and replace it.

Ever since ive installed my new HX620 the onboard sound on my Asus P5E WS Professional emits a loud constant tone as soon as Windows Vista loads. If I disable the sound card in device manager or unplug my speakers the tone goes away. Muting has no effect. I installed an old pci SB Live! I had lying around in the same system and it doesnt have this tone problem.

Im also having ghosting issues on one of my monitors thats connected to a pci geforce 6200. My 7900gtx is also in the system and is working fine. Ive played with refresh rates and different resolutions and I even replaced the cables on it and I still get ghosting.

I already got a replacement HX620 thinking the first one was bad but the new one has the exact same problem. If I plug my old Antec back in my system doesnt exhibit any of the above problems. Ive also bypassed my UPS and plugged it directly into the wall but nothing changes.

At this point im all out of ideas so if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS for the board, and then load setup defaults in the BIOS. If you are still having the same issues, I would recommend disconnecting devices that are not necessary and see if you can isolate which component may be causing the issues.

If a replacement PSU is giving you the same issues, then it is unlikely that the PSU is what is causing the problems. If uninstalling the onboard sound resolves the issue, then there may be a problem with either the motherboard, the chipset/sound drivers, or the BIOS itself.
