SIGWolf
Make: Compaq Model: V6305NR Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 Chipset Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-50 Manufacturers Part Number: RV053UA#ABA Memory capacity desired: 2GB I purchased the Laptop from Best Buy. They installed the memory and sold me part number VS1GSDS667D2. The memory configurator specifies VS1GSDS533D2. The laptop ran fine for about three months, now I get blue screens on occasion. The only hardware which is different on the laptop from that provided by the manufacturer is the memory. If BB sold me the wrong memory then that might explain the blue screens. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 9, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 9, 2008 With DD2 the modules should clock down to the next speed grade with out problems, but I would suggest we go ahead and get the modules replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. SIGWolf
Thank you for your reply. I've submitted the RMA. Right now I'm running the laptop with the factory modules, two 512MB DIMMS.

SIGWolf
The configurator specifies part number VS1GSDS533D2. Best Buy sold me VS1GSDS677D2. I was concerned the memory was not clocking down for the system. The RMA sent back the same part VS1GSDS677D2. I want to make sure this is correct before I open the memory and install it. I raised this issue in the documentation I sent with the RMA Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 If you want to change the part you will have to contact the reseller, but I would suspect they might not help since you did the RMA with us, if you have a problem I would suggest contacting our Customer Service by phone and see if they can help. 888-222-4346. SIGWolf
I guess my question is whether this is the correct part and will work and work well or should I pursue getting the part specified by the configurator utility? I hesitate to put the memory in and then have the same problem.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 The 667MHz modules should be able to back down to 533MHz without any problems.
