My basic config: AMD64 3500 venice (939) ASUS A8N-SLI SE [nForce4 sli](BIOS 0502, the lastest) VGA GEFORCE 6600GT (epox) CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory - Retail Model#: VS2GBKIT400C3 (07455026-0-800191 and 07455026-0-800188) PSU: seventeam 420w * the corsair above is a new buy. Memtest86+ 1.70 1) In dual channel (slots blue + blue or black + black) the memtest reports some “failing address” in few minutes or after a hour. Test 4/ pass 0/ failing address 00020d76fbc – 525.3MB/ good 98ed5054/ bad d8ed5054/ err-bits 40000000/ Count Chan 5 Test 6/ pass 0/ failing address 00020176cbc – 513.3MB/ good 00004000/ bad 40004000/ err-bits 40000000/ count chan 1 Test 6/ pass 0/ failing address 00023976fbc – 569.3MB/ good 00200000/ bad 40200000/ err-bits 40000000/ count chan 1 Test 6/ pass 0/ failing address 00020d76fbc – 525.3MB/ good 00000010/ bad 40000010/ err-bits 40000000/ count chan 2 WallTime = ~1h Pass = 0 Errors = 9 * Legacy USB disable * I realized more fast tests in dual channel and i got more errors but i dont take note. 2) One module each time - Module 1 (VS1GB400C3 07455026-0-800191) Test 7/ pass 10/ failing address 0001c4bb7dc – 452.6MB/ good b7bc710a/ bad f7bc710a/ err-bits 40000000/ count chan 1 Walltime = 7h26 Pass = 17 Errors = 1 - Module 2 (VS1GB400C3 07455026-0-800188) Walltime = 7h26 Pass = 17 Errors = 0 Can one single error in one memory module cause a lot of errors in dual? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 9, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 9, 2008 If one module fails and one is passing then we would want to get them replaced for your. One thing that you can try is setting the memory voltage to 2.7v and see if you are still having problems.
