scots_gamer
Hi all, I'm thinking of buying a nVidia 8800GT but has been told my 450w PSU wouldn't be up to the job, so I'm thinking of buying a new Corsair PSU because it's getting a lot of rave reviews! My question is, which PSU should I go for - the HX520w or HX620w? My PC is not overclocked, and its set-up as follow: XP Home Edition (SP2) ASUS P5LD2 SE motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 processors one 320gb hard drive one DVD-RW one DVD-ROM one Media Card reader 6 USB ports (3 currently in use) Integrated 6 channel (5.1) audio and of course the 7600GS which I want to replace with 8800GT. Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2008 Either one should be fine, however if you think you might add another video card in the future then go with the HX620w. Also, you can check out our PSU Finder Here.
scots_gamer
Many thanks for your reply, RAM GUY It's very unlikely that I will be adding a second video card in future, so I will go with HX520w PSU. Also cheers for the link to the PSU finder (very handy!) - and it came up with the same answer as yours. :):
