tuthmose
Hey all, I've just gotten a DFI Lanparty X38-T2R mobo and a Q6700 cpu. I can't get the system to post with my Dominator twin2x2048 8500c5d RAM set to run at its 1066mhz spec. I have set the voltage to 2.1v (even tried 2.2v) and have set the 5-5-5-15 timings manually. It will post just fine at 800mhz 1.85v standard settings. The cpu is not overclocked, and cpu and northbridge are getting stock voltage. This is probably just some n00b thing on my part, some setting I am overlooking perhaps, but does anybody have any suggestions? If anybody else has this motherboard and its running this RAM at 1066, can you share how you did it? Thanks, Tuthmose
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2008 How many modules do you have and did you test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org?
tuthmose
I have two 1Gb modules. Both formerly tested Memtested fine (18 hrs) in my old rig two days ago, before I moved them over.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2008 Then I would suggest testing them one at a time in this system with the tested settings set after you load setup defaults and let me know the results. If they both pass one up I would test them in your old system to be sure.
tuthmose
I cannot for love or money get these modules to work at the rated 5-5-5-15 at even close to 1066mhz speed at 2.2v (they are rev 1.2) with any reliability. I have tried several different memory straps and RAM subsettings on the board, all to no avail. I get close to 1066, they won't work. Several times they would boot, but then freeze or crash a program. More usually, the board would just give me the old "C1" memory error in its POST LCD and refuse to boot at all. They both pass Memtest for 6 hours, but the proof is in the pudding, so to speak - they don't work in a real situation. RMA in the works . . .
