botw
Just installed a new vx550. After a day or two, I noticed a high-pitched ringing/whining sound, which I traced to the power supply. This doesn't strike me as normal. Are others having this problem, and does this indicate a significant issue?
krishcanag
it never is normal for a PSU to make such a noise. This sounds like a capacitor/PWM fault. Unless its a mechanical sound in which case you could trace it, maybe, take it out, short on the power pins on your connect and rotoate it on all 3 axis to see if its a mechancial fault. krishan
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2008 I would recommend doing the Paperclip Test and see if the sound is still there. If its still there then, let's get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it.
