schocka
I installed the TWIN2X2048-8500C5D in dual channel mode into MSI P35 Platinum board. Left the BIOS settings as auto and the PC POSTed. I found problems while running Prime95. To test to see if the problem was the memory I ran Memtest+ v1.70 one stick at a time with the BIOS set manually to 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1V (I have ver2.3 sticks). One stick passed 38 times. The other stick, tested in the same slot, failed after 3 passes and started to generate several errors after that. If I RMA the twin pack, what happens? Do they replace just the bad stick or will I receive two new sticks? What about versions? Will I still receive a version 2.x stick? I'd like to keep lower voltage sticks. As a last question, what is the difference between the TWIN2X2048-8500C5D and the TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF? System: Intel q6600 @ stock speeds (until system is stable to start OC) MSI P35 Platinum BIOS v1.06 CoolerMaster 600w eXtreme Visiontek HD 3850 Western Digital 80Gb IDE x2 (RAID 0) Thanks!! bigbuck08
If you RMA the set you will recieve a matched set in return. You might be able to request a 2.x revision but im not sure. The only difference between those two are the "F" means it comes with a fan.
schocka
Have I performed enough testing to request an RMA? Are there any other suggestions that you recommend?
