Will2137
Hello everyone, I recently purchased a TWIN2X2048-6400 (2GB kit) to upgrade my slow 512MB gateway GT5222E computer. I checked beforehand on newegg and another website to see if the type of chip and speed (DDR2 PC2-6400) would work on my system and saw that there wasn't supposed to be any problem. But when I arrive home and install the kit on both the slots in my pc and turn it on, the pc gets stuck on the Gateway screen that appears right when you turn it on. So i'm assuming that it really isn't compatible at all and that I just wasted 90 dollars. Can anyone confirm that it really isn't compatible with my system to be sure that it isn't a defective part or that I missed doing something before installing it? The pc specs are here: http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Gateway-GT5222E thx in advance
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 8, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 8, 2008 I am sorry but no those modules would not be compatible with that system, please look up your system on our memory configurator and then see if the reseller will let you send them back for the part that is listed.
