mudbone60
I have an ASUS Maximus Extreme..E6850 CPU, with TWIN3x2048-1800c7dfin g and a XFX gt 7800GT video card. I am trying to load Vista 64 bit on it.. I am able to get it to post... but has a hard time installing Vista.. It blue screens on different things each time I try to load it. The only way that I was able to get it to load Vista was to set AI Overclocker Tuner to XMP and use profile #1. Now i have it loaded up, but I really can't do anything in Vista without a blue screen. The following are my current settings, but I have tried to modify most of them DRAM Freq DDR3-1353 DRAM Command Rate 2T DRAM Timing manual 9 9 9 24 I have tried 7 7 7 20 the rest auto. there is nowhere in the Bios to set the DRAM voltage but it displays as being 2.096v PLEASE HELP!! What setting does it need to be to get the system stable? thanks, craig
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 7, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 7, 2008 Please check in the manual in section four for where and how to set the memory Voltage and I would set AI Overclocker Tuner to XMP or set it to manual and set the timings and Voltage manually to the tested settings. Please make sure that you have the latest BIOS and load setup defaults first.
mudbone60
I have read the manual.. Unfortunately the manual says you can set cpu voltage, cpu pll voltage, north bridge voltage, dram voltage, fsb terrmination voltage, etc. Unfortunately I do not see it in this 0904 BIOS.. OR am I really missing it somewhere. It is not under Extreeme Treaker like the manual says.. but the AI overclock tuner is.. I set it to XMP prof 1 (the rest auto) and I can load Vista but now it hangs when I put it under loads. Any other ideas? Thanks for your help! begovics
you have to set the OC mode to "manual" you will then see all the advance voltage options. I have similar problem. When I set OC mode to "manual", voltage settings appear. They all show "auto" and I am not able to change it. Is there anything else I need to set? Thanks. Renesis
Theres no menu when you change voltages so highlight the voltage you want to change and type it in.
begovics
Thank you Renesis. I should have mentioned that I had voltage menu (working as pop-up menu)before I updated Bios to the newest 0503 version. Not only my CPU temperature jumped from 39 to 48, but it "locked" my voltage settings. New bios solved some other problems though. Couldn't it be that bios locks these when temperatures rise to the certain level? Something like safety feature?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 14, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 14, 2008 I would suggest talking to the MB maker about that to be sure.

System on default memory voltage add auto MEM Freq manual add 1333MHz system crash now when system go IDLE. BIOS set to manual and set core voltage, NB voltage, SB voltage FSB Termination voltage, because I read over the internet when the system crash after a few minutes than you need to put more voltage on the CPU voltage but nothing help Any suggestion please help
Yoxxy
More FSB Term Voltage, More NB Voltage.

No shiitt, If corsair says that they have tested this memories on motherboard (maximus extreme) They should know exactly what of kind voltage people has to use for this to run stable. that means corsair is lieing about the result
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2008 The settings are published for the specific Modules with relation to the test platform, the settings listed for any module should translate to any other MB. But there are just to many MB's for me or any one else to remember all the specific settings for a specific MB. However, if you read my posts you will see if I know them for a specific MB I will post them. If you have trouble with this I would suggest contacting the MB maker to help you translate the settings for you as they wrote the BIOS they would be the best place to get help with their BIOS and how to navigate the BIOS. Or you are welcome to call our Tech support when you are in front of your system and we will do our best to help you. Also: Please see the Performance Reports on these modules and other like modules to get an idea of the MB's and what we did to run them at the tested settings. Wired
http://www.corsairmemory.com/_datasheets/TWIN3X2048-1600C7DHXIN.pdf Reset your BIOS, set to 2.0V, test one stick at a time with Test one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+. Yes, I am aware it will be running at 1333 Mhz, but this is intended to see if they are stable or not. If they test fine, then bump it up to 1600 Mhz and repeat. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 25, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 25, 2008 That is your choice, doeyourthing if that is your choice please talk to your reseller. And I have not seen where you created your own post and asked questions, just that you jumped in on someone else's thread and complained and not really asking for help. However, maybe its the language difference I don't know so as I have stated in this thread previously you cannot run the memory at DDR1600 with a 1333 FSB CPU with out over clocking the CPU. The tested settings can be found from the link in my signature have you tried those? What are the exact settings you have set.
machine4000
I also have an new ASUS Maximus Extreme with extreme QX6850 CPU, with 4 gigabytes of RAM and a 7800GTX video card. The video card was from my old pc so I know that works. Very simular hardware here but the RAM is OCZ 4GB DDR3 PC3-10666C6 1333MHz ReaperX (2x2GB) Dual Channel DDR3. My thinking is that there is a problem with the ASUS Maximus Extreme Mother Board with high end ram settings... When I try to install Vista 64 bit or vista 32 bit or windows xp etc it blue screens on different things each time I try to load it. Few very times I have noticed that the pc doesn't not make it through the POST. Craig if you managed to fix this problem, could you please let me know what you did to resolve this. Looking at the date of your post seem like you had this issue about 3 weeks ago so please let me know what you did. Tonight I will try to update the BIOS but I do not think that there are many updates for this new board. Also the proccessor with the stock fan at 100% speed is heats up to the 60' degrees range from bootup. Could this be a temp error in the BIOS detection? The heatsink does not feel hot. Someone please help ! Paul
