marcillus
I plan to upgrade my XMS2 with Dominators, Twin 2X2048-8500C5D-1066 MHZ However, when I install the new mems, the computer boots up but doesn't display anything, fans are running, mobo lights are on and it powers off on its own after a while. No plans of OC. Can I please have a step by step guide on how to remedy this problem? Sorry, newbie here. Thanks
Yellowbeard
Remove all power from the MOBO. Install new memory. Clear CMOS per instructions in manual. Reboot and enter bios. Set memory timings manually to 5,5,5,15, 2T and voltage to 2.1v for rev 2.* modules and 2.2v for rev 1.* modules. F-10, enjoy.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2008 Please look in the user manual in section 4 or contact the MB Maker for help with their BIOS settings or you can call our tech support when you are in front of the system. Normally the Voltage and Frequency Control will be where you set the memory voltage and frequency but they might call it something else again check in section 4 of the manual. And the memory timings will normally be in Advanced Chipset.
Yellowbeard
Please look at your manual, I believe it will be chapter 4 IIRC. It explains each segment of the bios. All of the memory adjustments are under the ADVANCED tab. CAS Latency (tCL) - 5 RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD) - 5 RAS Precharge (tRP) - 5 Cycle Time (tRAS) 15 Command Rate - 2T Look on the side of your modules on the sticker. The revisions are printed there.
