Ginit
Hey guys, I bought myself a mobo called PC-A9RD580Adv. Now ive been getting bluescreens every day .. (one a day or so) and i'm quite getting tired of it. Atm ive got one XMS Corsair (CMX512-3200C2) RAM module of 512Mb. I used to have 2 but one had alot of errors when I tested them on memtest86+ v1.7. I removed one module, tested the other one and it ran without errors during 10hours. But the bluescreens kept on comming oh yes they did. I wrote some of them down. STOP: 0X0000008E STOP: 0X0000007E STOP: 0X00000050 STOP: 0X000000D1 and with some there was actually a described version: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA and so forth, and so on. Now, on windows support you get to read that most of the causes are faulty RAM but, like I said before, I tested my precious remaining module for over 10hours and no errors were displayed. I think thats enough. One of the causes they said, could also be wrong settings in BIOS. So I think the settings for my RAM in the bios are ****e. The CAL thing and all those things like whatever I don't know jack about them. Can anyone help? Would be greatly appreciated.. thx
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 4, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 4, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have Cas 2-3-3-6 at 2t Command Rate), and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test
Ginit
Hi, thx for the quick reply! Well ive posted the same thread on the forums of Sapphire (with some adjustments) and I got the answer that, before I start messing around with BIOS updates (because I'm a noob), I should look here to see if anyone knows the settings I should use in my current BIOS. How can I change the Dim voltage? And Cas 2-3-3-6, I remember them beeing different, more like 3-3-3-8 or something. How do I change them to 2-3-3-6. Because in my BIOS I get a long list of settings I can change and I cant really tell what I have to change. Pls help me out here. PS I dont have an other system to test them on so .. :(
