blinkdt
I've been doing some video editing of late and am most certainly ready to take the plunge toward a 64-bit OS, specifically Win XP Pro for which my organization has a volume license agreement (I'll be looking into Vista x64 on my dime). And N3w3gg is currently offering the 4GB (2 x 2GB) model TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G, DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), rated at 5-5-5-18 and 1.8V for a great price. My question: has anyone actually put 8 gigs of this RAM on this board with great result? I plan on performing the install with two 1GB sticks, then swap in the larger modules in pairs. If things work out as I hope, I intend to buck up the CPU from the current E6750 to a quad. Thanks for thoughts or comments from anyone who has actually travelled this route. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2008 With 4 modules on that chipset DDR667 would be suggested, but it might work as I have not tested that MB and for sure we would not test 4 modules, only the way they are sold.
