demetrisag
Hi there! First post here so before I say anything Happy new year to everybody! Hope this new years gives you everything you want! (hope that for me to! hehe!) Well I've got asus striker extreme, as a musician I am, (and with all this samples loading and everything) I'm interested on the size of ram mostly than speed, so as I intend to used XP 64bit, it wont be a problem for me to use more than 2 GB. Problem is how compatible my motherboard will be. to cut a long from the story I'm interested on getting Corsair PC6400 2x2048MB 800Mhz(TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX) two sets of those in total 8GB. Would my asus striker extreme be able to take this you think? Best Regards Demetris Agathocleous

Thanks for the quick Reply first! but telling me to get one set is seems to me that something is hiding behind that. I'd like to have 8GB on my system, Do you think there is a chance I migh experience incobatibility issues if I go for 8GB?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2008 8 Gig will work fine but you may have to run the memory at DDR667 with more than two modules installed.
demetrisag
* Gig will work fine but you may have to run the memory at DDR667 with more than two modules installed. When you say DDR667 you mean that I migh have to run my ram at 667Mmz instead of the 800Mhz Factory speed?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2008 Yes, as you add more memory with most MB's the memory speed will have to be slowed down that is normal.
