shazbot
hello I have recently built a machine from old parts lying around the house The MB is a asus P4C800 E and I have 2 * CMX1024-3400C2 sticks of ram When both sticks are plugged in I get an memtest error on test number 4, in dual and in 'non' dual mode When I run these sticks by themselves they both pass this test I have the settings at 2 3 3 6 and 2.75 volts, so any idea as it doen't seem that the sticks are defective thanks
No_Fear
if you can change the memory voltage try the test with 2,85v
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2008 Please make sure that you have the latest Bios version and then load setup/optimized defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
