oldgromit
Hi all, newbie here so any info is appreciated. Got a pair of CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) TWIN2X2048-6400C4 with 4-4-4-12 spec for my ABIT IN9 32X-MAX board. I increased DDR2 voltage to 2.1v in BIOS, and manually set memory timing to 4-4-4-12-2 in BIOS. but when I ran Vista Experience Index, it gives 5.0 as my memory score, same as if I let it run in default setting, (1.8v). I assume this stick is one of the best ones and should give me 5.9 score. Am I mistaken? what else do I need to set/tweak to bring my memory Experience Index higher to 5.9, like the rest of my rig? TIA!
Xtreeme
WEll, seeing that tightening timings made 0 diff in score it kinda tells you something. Its not a benchmark at all- its a really badly done rating system with no data to tell you how it rates. Not very accurate to say the least. As you have just seen. Want to reeeeeally see the diff in mem use a "benchmark". Try everest and do the mem benches- when it comes to timings being tweaked keep you eye on the mem latency, it should always go down. If you can get 49 or less on latency your doing good.:): Everest link http://www.download.com/Everest-Ultimate-Edition-2006/3000-2086-10499291.html
