werdna333
I am having problems booting up my pc on the asus p5nesli motherboard with 2 sets of CORSAIR TwinX 1gig x 2 (2 Gig) DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 800mhz Matched Pair installed, i switch it on and no video display. However when i boot with 3gb it gets to the bios post and freezes, 2gb works fine it seems but i would like to get 4gb working at the 800mhz. I have tried many many different bios settings and none have worked with 3 or 4gb installed.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 2, 2008 With 4 modules DDR667 would be suggested with that MB, but you can try these settings after you load setup defaults: SLi ready: Disabled Memory Voltage: 2.1v NForce SPP Voltage: 1.5v CPU FSB Voltage 1.4 TCL: 4 TRCD: 4 TRP: 4 TRAS: 12 Command Per Clock: 2 TRC:
werdna333
unfortuantly it looks like i may have to return the motherboard, u would think when u go to a professional pc place to buy gear they would know a little about there products to save people like me all this time trying many different settings to try get the pc working properly. Before i return the motherboard though is there possibly any other solution and also am i right to blame the pc company for selling me incompatable hardware ? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2008 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 3, 2008 Well not really most resellers that just sell hardware do not offer hardware support. They just sell parts. not to mention this is just a limitation not a compatibility issue. And you will have the same limitations with any MB on the market with this chipset, in fact most if not all of the MB's will have the same issue.
