J_Latka
iam upgrading to a new board that supports ddr400, i have 512 of ddr333 at the moment, i wanted to get another 512M stick but want to get DDR400 so i can put the ddr333 back into this mobo down the road. can i use both sticks, one of DDR400 and one of DDR333? iam assuming if i can they will both have to run at 333Mhz the mobo supports both speeds of ddr. CandyKid
Yes, you should be able to use both sticks and yes, they'll run at the slowest denominator (DDR333, etc). If one of them is CAS 2.5 and one is CAS 2, they'll run at CAS 2.5, etc. What modules and motherboard, specifically, are you looking at? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted March 11, 2004 Corsair Employee Share Posted March 11, 2004 I would suggest that you match the modules in this MB, as it has displayed some issues with setting the timings manually! You would need to set the memory Frequency and timings manually to the speed of the slowest module to make them work, and some times different module just will not work together!
