DP35DP mobo and 1.9v ram

So i have the Intel DP35DP motherboard that requires 1.8v ram.....but i bought(not reading first!) CM2X1024-6400 ram (XMS6405v5.1 5-5-5-12) which is 1.9v...not the mobo specific 1.8v. Can i make this ram work? and how? or should i just buy new ram.

Thanks,

RB

As noted, just install it and use it. If it will boot at all, it will probably run I would suggest you torture it in the OS also as Memtest is a good indicator of errors but, Memtest is not a good torture test. Try Orthos Prime 95 or a burn in program like the SiSoft Sandra burn in.

Also as noted, if this memory does not work with this board, then you can either replace the memory or get a MOBO with OCing options.

OK so i have the board and my 1.9v ram.....

it gets to the windows boot screen and reboots.

the timmings right now are 5-5-5-12 set to 800mhz. There does not seem to be an area i can adjust the voltage for the ram. Any suggestions? Can i change the timings to accomplish this?

thanks,

Help!!!

I knew of the 1.8v restriction on Intel Mobo (DP35DP), and I specifically asked ZipZoomFly.com for 1.8v Module using their wizard and it pointed me to this Memory Module (TWIN2X4096-6400C5 G).

So now that i have it in my hand, I see that it has 1.9v on its side sticker. I don't have my processor or any other parts picked yet, so I can't turn it on to test it.

Could someone tell me if this combination of Motherboard and Memory would work, or should I RMA the memory back to ZipZoomFly.com ASAP.

Thanks in advance!

I ran mine with 1.9v, and she ran...however i am still setting the machine up and i haven't ran memtest yet.....so you can turn it on and set up the machine, but i can't say how stable it will be.
