MikeDaMan34
Hi, I have a DFI Lanparty UT NF3-250Gb motherboard which supports up to 2GB using DDR400 PC3200 RAM. My original purchase was 2X512 sticks of Cru*cial Ballis*tix PC3200 RAM. I just purchased a 1GB PC3200 Corsair XMS stick to add the the final third free RAM slot on the motherboard. When I install all three RAM only 1024MB is seen. If I put in just the new Corsair stick the proper 1GB is recognized. If I put in the corsair stick with 1 cru*cial stick only 512MB is seen. sometimes If I put all three sticks in the amount changes depending on what order they are inserted but never over 1GB total. Has anyone else seen an issue like this? I've looked around and haven't found much on this type of mix. I've also updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version and still the same crazy results. bigbuck08
Most likely the problem is you are trying to mix two different brands of RAM. This is not possible and will not work.
MikeDaMan34
I've seen mixing brands work before. I know it's not the smartest idea but you think it just wont work or is there any other options to try?
bigbuck08
You could try manual changing the settings to the lowest of the two brands of RAM or leaving everything to Auto. Otherwise no.
