MagiGot
Hello, so I have an ABIT KN8 SLi motherboard and a CORSAIR XMS 1GB DDR 400 CMX1024-3200C2PT. I bought another RAM, is a CORSAIR XMS 1GB DDR 400 CMX1024-3200PT when I put the new RAM into my computer, my computer started beeping and the computer doesn't even start. Took out the new RAM and the computer started working fine. I try putting the new ram by itself and started beeping like last time. So doesn't anyone know this problem? Is the RAM defected? PimpYo
did you try clearing the CMOS / removing the battery yet so that the mobo's bios weill reset to default settings? Try that and then booting with all the memory in. also, lookup the required voltage for your RAM and see what the mobo is giving it. With newer DDR2 memory, it will want 2.1V and the mobo defaults to only 1.8V. With 2 1GB modules the ram might accept it, but with 4 1GB modules it probably wouldnt. You could have something similiar happening with your DDR1 memory and ur mobo. Check that the memory voltage is set properly.
