Gchen
Hi, I just bought a new system few days ago. After put everything together, my system doesn't boot. The fan is running but nothing shows on the screen. So we send it back to the store and the guy said my Asus P5K mobo doesn't support Corsair XMS2 DHX TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX 2GB DDR2 2X1GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12 Memory Kit. After switch to another 5-5-5-18 ram, the system can boot without any problem. However I check both Asus and Corsair website and they both said they are compatible to each other. I tried to adjust the Dram Voltage to 2.1 and put the 4-4-4-12 ram back on but the system still can't boot. Could anyone know what is going wrong? Thanks a lot. bigbuck08
Did you try each module individually?
Gchen
Yes I did with the 4-4-4-12 but the system won't boot with any configuration. Is TWIN2X2048-6400C4DHX the same as TWIN2X2048-6400C4 with out heatsink? I think Asus p5k should support it since it allows me to adjust the latency to 4-4-4-12 and the voltage to 2.1 and higher
bigbuck08
Yes they are the same module. Could you please try each module individually without the manual settings but with BIOS defaults and let us know what happens.
Gchen
Hi, I did try to run them individually when the system was newly put together so it should be running at default. I also tried to reset Cmos as well but the system just couldn't boot with the 4-4-4-12 ram. The fan and everything would be on but nothing would show on the screen. There's no short beep either. Thanks.

I did try one by one with any configuration ie on different slot or the slot that mobo manual suggested and none works.
bigbuck08
Things could have changed over time. Please ensure that BIOS defaults are loaded then test with Memtest.
