Medieval Nerd
Hi all, going to be joining the water cooling comunity soon. :) And I was wondering, I dont want to fiddle with distilled water and such. I saw that Thermaltake offers a coolant that does not require being mixed with Distilled water. Is the thermaltake coolant compatible with the Nautilus? If not, is there any coolant out there that does not require mixing? (that is also compatible with the nautilus of course :) ) Thanks in advance! bigbuck08
Check out the stuff they have at Danger Den. Ram Guy would need to confirm if it is compatible or not. I dont see why it wouldnt be though.

It is not a big deal to mix 1/2 a bottle of the Corsair supplied coolant with a balance of distilled water ($.99/gal) to top of the system. Really not fiddling IMO. Medieval Nerd
It's more that I can't find a local distributor of mine that has any corsair coolant! I dont have a credit card so ordering things is pretty hard for me. Aniways, It's more that I wouldn't want to use the corsair coolant than have to drain my whole system to change it with whatever i'll find. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 28, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 28, 2007 We can only ensure that the unit would function properly with the coolant included with the unit. We do not test other coolants, and would recommend using the supplied coolant mixed with distilled water.
Medieval Nerd
The store I make business with can order from plenty of distributors. (including Corsair). Who distributes the Corsair Coolant? Is it possible to order it directly from Corsair? If so, problem solved. if not, what are the alternatives? (Known Stores/distributors that deliver to canada)

Medieval Nerd
I think that Corsair should obviously sell their own coolant if their water coolers (natilus) only work with it. I feel i'm going to be forced to use some other coolant and that if theres a problem well Corsair will be able to wash their hands of the problem and say, well you werent using our coolant. (Which seems pretty hard to find in canada)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 28, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 28, 2007 Ask and you shall receive: http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-liq-06.html, although you shouldn't ever have to replace the coolant. Just add distilled water as needed.
Medieval Nerd
So with 1 bottle your good for a year? 1/2 bottle, and fill the rest with distilled water? I think I read somewhere it was a good idea to drain your water cooler every 6 months. I guess i'll have to go and find some water.

Yellowbeard
Now just need to find a funnel... on new years eve... issshh....You can always cut up a paper or plastic cup. Be like a Marine, adapt and overcome! :sunglasse The hole is large enough to pour it freehand anyway so no worries even if you dribble a bit. Just do your initial setup with a paper towel or cloth around the hole and under the unit.

stev
If you look really close at the N500, you will notice that the HEX(rad) is the same as the HC200. Next the pump is the DDC type that can be mod'ed in the HC200. Also, the cold-block is a big brother to the HC200. So, with that all being said, the HC200 uses 1/3 of PG (Propylene Glycol) to 2/3 Distilled Water. You can measure using dixie cups, spoonfuls, tea cups or whatever, but keep the ratio the same. Actually you can easily mix up a gallon jug rather easy. This ratio will provide the best protection of inhibitors, algae protection and freezing protection for those got to go to lan party types in the middle of winter. The last thing you need is a frozen system in the trunk of your vehicle. :D: Peace! Stev
