ckhirnigs
Hi, I have an Abit Max3 mb with a 2.8c processor. I have an interesting situation. I have read everywhere that these ch-5 chips hate voltage, I know for a fact that I have rev. 2 memory, so that is what it has. I can only get to 215fsb with 2.8v on the ram, but with 3.2v on the ram I can get to 233fsb stable in memtest and prime95! Is this dangerous for the ram, or how can this be explained if voltage is supposed to have no effect on ch-5? The ram does not work with dividers, so I know its ch-5. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 8, 2004 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 8, 2004 Anything over 2.8 Volts will void the warranty, but it would be forcing Voltage higher, however it will eventually make the IC's fail.
