zalophus
My first build. IP35Pro has 4pin in line (vs 2 on top and 2 on bottom) connector for PCI-E Aux power. My XFX 8600GT has no power connector. The Corsair 4-pin+12 volt connector and the PCI-E connector cables are both 2 on top/bottom. Can I use one of the Corsair 800mm 4-pin connectors? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2007 You would not want to use the 4-Pin ATX connector on your video card, and it is unlikely that it would fit. Only use the 4-Pin Molex or 6-pin PCI-e connector for your video card if it is required. The 4-pin ATX connector should only be used with motherboards which have a 4-pin connector instead of an 8-pin. edit: mixing up my connectors! EliteKiller
Although you can use a 4-pin ATX12V connector on the IP35's 8-pin 12V input (behind the ps/2 ports), all Corsair psu's should have an 8-pin EPS (may break apart for a 4+4, although the HX should have a fixed 4-pin & 8-pin) 12V connector so please use it instead. The PCIe connector is 6-pin, but you won't need to connect it since your card lacks the input and draws <75W. The inline 4-pin located below the PCIe #1 slot is a standard "peripheral" molex connector. It only needs to be connected if you plan on doing SLI since it provides additional power to PCIe #2. It is there to augment the board power when using a Crossfire setup. That connector is a standard 4 pin molex so yes, the 4 pin molex connector from the PSU is fine "IF" you should need to use it.
