torrac
I've got a new XFX nforce 780i SLI mother board (MB-N780-ISH9) and I'm looking for a compatible set of ram to run in it. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit Intel Core 2 quad Q6600 processor Mother board is rated at 1333mhz FSB It can run up to DDR2 1200mhz or PC9600 I would like to run either 4 x 1Ghz or 2 x 2Ghz memory modules. Cost isn't a big issue. Just as long as the memory doesn't cause 0x0000007e errors to be generated once Vista starts and will benefit an SLI rig. Thanks for your assistance. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 I would suggest Twin2x2048-8500C5D with that MB.
geoff
what about the 8500 CS? It's considerably cheaper. Is the "Dominator" really needed? I dont see too many differences but that it says it's SLI ready. Also, I see the QUAD2X4096-8500C5DF for 4 gigs is available. Is this recommended? I fear that ordering 2 sets of 2 (1) gigs sticks wont be matched. Ive had this problem before with 3200 RAM. And another also, would the recommended RAM for this XFX board be the same as the EVGA 780i?
bigbuck08
If you plan on overclocking at all the Dominator would be the best choice. Also, if you want 4GB look for something 2x2GB. You will have less problems.
