risk_reversal
Seasons Greetings to all. I am currently using a 1Gb Corsair Flash Voyager drive [Model #: CMFUSB2.0-1GB] on Win98SE (4.10.2222A). I installed the Corsair supplied driver and the drive is working without any issues. I have 2 quick questions 1. I wanted to purchase a larger such drive (either the 4Gb or 8Gb of the same model ie CMFUSB2.0-4GB / 8GB) and was wondering whether 98SE would have any issues either detecting or working with these larger capacity sticks. 2. Presumably the Corsair driver which I installed for the 1Gb stick would also work for the larger 4/8Gb Corsair sticks also ie the 1Gb and 4 / 8Gb memory stick driver are the same. Many thanks for any info provided Cheers
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 You may need to use the other driver listed if that drive you have is more than a year old, but yes there should not be any problems just get the new driver. risk_reversal
Thanks for the reply. I have checked and am currently using the old win98 driver. I will download the new and will use that in event of difficulties. If you have a sec may I ask 2 final questions. 1. Is the old win98 driver for use with the 1,2 & 4gb stick and the new win98 driver for the 8 & 16Gb models. 2. Can both the old & new drivers co-exist on win98. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 27, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 27, 2007 Yes and Yes, I personally tested both drivers before I posted them as I have different drives available to me before I posted the drivers. However, we have recently used a newer controller with 2.0 Gig and up FV drives so the new driver may be needed for all 2.0 Gig and larger FV drives. risk_reversal
Many thanks for the info RAM GUY. Lets see which controller I get. To install the new win98 driver, I take it that this is done through the .inf file (right click and select install). Cheers
