Hemicbx
I just built a new system; my first: AMD X2 6000+ (3GHz) Asus Crosshair MB (latest bios 0904) 2 GB XMS2 6400 RAM (TWIN2x2048-6400C4) Dual 320GB Seagate Barracudas, 7200rpm XP Pro Antec NeoPower 650W PSU Antec Nine Hundred Case I ran 3DMark06 and scored 6313. While my machine runs my programs fine, I’m not sure my benchmark is up to par. (SM2=2532, SM3=2614, CPU=2287) Most settings are in auto so I ran Memtest 86+ v1.7 for 2 full passes. And get RAM 430MHz (DDR861) / CAS 5-5-5-18 / DDR-2 (128bits), No errors. Cached 2047 M RsvdMem 84M Cache On ECC Off L1 Cache 128k 24703MB/s L2 Cache 1024k 6138 MB/s Memory 2047M 2643MB/s I then set the timings down to 4-4-4-12, 2T and re-ran Memtest86+ with no errors. I’m hesitant to get in there and start messing with voltages or other settings without some guidance. Part of this is because with the CROSSHAIR mobo, ther are so many things to goof with, I’m not sure which settings I should mess with. Any thoughts on the system or the setup would be hugely appreciated. Thanks, Hemicbx Goals: I’m not necessarily trying to be a super-overclocker or anything. I already have a fast (3Ghz) CPU, so there can’t be much to gain there. I just want a solid well running system with the right settings
