860markp
Hi, OK, dumb question. I try to use the compatibility engine for my particular Mobo and it was not on the list. Does that mean my Mobo is not compatible? (I know it sounds silly, but I have to ask!) I am trying to extend the life of a Biostar TForce4 SLI. Thanks for your time and Happy Holidays! bigbuck08
What RAM are you trying to use with it or looking at using? You can use anything up to DDR400.
860markp
I am looking at using CMX1024 3200PRO in the board.
860markp
I agree it's supposed to work but my system won't boot with that memory. That inspired me to look for compatibility with my Mobo and couldn't find mine listed. Mark
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2007 Have you tested the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to make sure one is not failing and are all of the modules exactly the same part number and revision? 860markp
Have you tested the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to make sure one is not failing and are all of the modules exactly the same part number and revision? No I haven't tested them yet. I tried to boot them one at a time with no success. I apologize in advance for my naivete but to test them I'll assume (from looking your link) it appears you can test from a bootable floppy? Quick history, the memory is from another PC of mine that had crashed and I am salvaging parts from. I was hoping I could use the mem sticks but now am wondering if they actually contributed to the crash... anyway... I have two pairs of matching modules (same PN and version) that caused me no prob in my last system for quite a while(til the crash...) If I find the modules are bad am I still able to warranty them? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2007 I would set the tested settings and voltage after you clear the BIOS and load setup defaults and test them one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and yes all of our memory has a lifetime warranty. 860markp
Ok, I have done what you have suggested (Verified update on BIOS, set voltage and test settings, load defaults and tested them individually) I also disconnected HD and other peripherals etc. I found failures in the modules. I also tested a like module in my Mobo and it passed. (all of which has strained my marriage due to this occuring on x-mas when my inlaws were over! I hope my efforts were worth it! My wife is Italian and has good aim...) From what I have researched on the site I can complete a RMA request form with your blessing (RAM Guy) and make this all better. Is the TSX Ticket #/ Form Post ID # this post or is it a number you supply to me? Please let me know if this is OK or is there something else I need to do? Thanks for the help and Happy Holidays!
