TonyY.
hi! I've a problem with that combination. If i put one of the two sticks in the ramslot (green) everything works fine/stable. If i put the other one in the second ramslot (purple), the PC won't boot up. Both sticks are memtest86+ stable and work fine in a DFI Ultra-D at dual channel mode. is there a well known problem with these two components? thx a lot! bigbuck08
If they work in a different motherboard and pass Memtest with no errors, there could be a problem with the MSI motherboard.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2007 If you are trying to install four modules try and set the memory frequency at DDR333 and set the memory Voltage to 2.8 Volts.
TonyY.
sry, but the MSI K8T Neo2-F v2.0 has only two ramslots, one green, one, purple.
bigbuck08
Tak from MSI's description of this motherboard: Note: PC3200 (DDR400) Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability. If it boots with one module in go into BIOS. Load BIOS defaults and then set these settings: DRAM Clock: 400 MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 6T DDR Voltage: 2.5v You motherboards manual doesnt show these settings so I dont know if you will even be able to change them. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 If either one of the modules will run and pass http://www.memtest.org one at a time then there is some other problem.
TonyY.
both sticks run the memtest without a failure!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 If that is a socket 754 MB you might have to set the memory frequency at DDR333 with more than one double rank module is installed. But it might be the CPU is failing as well.
TonyY.
no, its S939. set settings manually: DRAM Clock: 400 MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T DDR Voltage: 2.7v but without luck. for me, it seems to be a compatibility problem, between MSI and Corsair. next days, I'll try a G. E. I. L. BH5 2x512MB dual channel kit. thank you guys.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 zi would try and swap the CPU in another MB to test, or as you posted they worked fine in another MB so its not the memory.
