Hi all, First time poster here so bare with me I don't even know if I am posting in the right forum. I recently got an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ 400MHz FSB Proc to replace the 3000+ that I originaly had. Now I've got a serious problem trying to run my Corsair XMS 1024MB DDR PC3200 ( 2x512MB Sticks ). Before I ran my ram and proc at 333MHz FSB at 5,2,2,2 without any problems. Thats been running good for the last year and I have never recieved errors or anything. The ram is running in dual channel aswell slot one and slot 3. Now that I've got my new proc a 400MHz I can now use the ram at the speed its supposed to run at. so I'm running the 3200+ at 2.2Ghz 400MHz FSB and my ram at 400MHz and leaving it set by SPD so no adjustments to the timmings. Here's my problem I can install windows run around in windows listen to MP3's blah blah but when I go to run any type of program that is hardware intensive the system will restart and then not post. Here's what I've done so far: 1.) Re-install windows using Single channel instead of dual channel at 400MHz FSB and 400MHz memory. The system runs stable and does not produce the problem. 2.) Re-installed windows usning Dual Channel at 400MHz FSB and 333MHz memory using ram timming 5,2,2,2. The system runs stable and does not produce the problem. 3.) Re-installed windows using Dual Channel at 400MHz FSB using slots 2 and 3. System again restarted and would not post. 4.) Unplugged uneeded hardware like the CDROM's Second HDD and soundcard and the 7 case fans, attempted to run the 400MHz FSB and 400 MHz using SPD Timmings aswell in Dual Channel and the system restarted again and did not post. Now I'm trying to pinpoint wether its a proc problem, a mobo problem, or a memory problem. The system is perfectly stable at 3200+ 2.2GHz 400MHz FSB and 333MHz memory at 5,2,2,2 and thats what I've been running at for the past few days. MB Temp is 16c CPU Temp is 47c I went to corsairs website and looked at the specifications for my memory the website states the ram will run at 400MHz 6,2,3,2 which is what its at right now but won't work at that speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hate to ask but I have to. Don't take offense. Are you sure the RAM is 3200LL? The timings of 2-2-2-5 @ 333 is the specs of the 2700 modules. Also if the RAM was older C2, they were progammed with 2700 SPD. Looking at your specs I don't see any problems. You could try clearing the CMOS and setting the timings and speed manually to 2-3-2-6 and bump the DIMM voltage to 2.7.
