DomFrance
Hi, I changed my MAC RAM (2x512) to Corsair RAM (2x1GB). The reference of the new RAM is VS1GSDS667D2. My iMac is a late-06 Intel Core2duo 2,13Ghz 20" It worked fine for a few weeks, but then started to crash (kernel crash) several times a day, even with Windows XP (installed with bootcamp) ! I was unable to identify any software responsible for that. I ran memory test, but with no error. Then I put back the original RAM, and it didn't crashed for a week... First, this iMac is not listed in the Corsair Memory configurator... Second, did I got the right reference ? I saw on Corsair site there is another reference for specific Mac RAM (but with exactly the *same* caracteristics, 5-5-5-15-2T unbuffered non-ECC) VSA1GSDS667D2. What's the difference with VS1GSDS667D2, except the sticker ? I couldn't find any information on that on Corsair web site. Thanks, DomFrance
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 26, 2007 When you changed to our modules did you reset the BIOS? There is some steps to do this on the Imac web site and I think its in your manual as well. Or search for it on the forum here, sorry but I do not remember those steps as I do not use a mac.
