rbradleyc
I am currently running Avid XpressPro on my system with 2gb of RAM. When I built the system, my budget would only allow me to buy Twin 2x2048-5400C4 memory. My budget has since improved and I would like to go to 4gb of RAM. What would be the advantage of switching to the -6400C4 modules? Will it help my editing system perform better. Also, I am overclocking my Pentium D 920 to 3.4ghz and I have set my RAM to 2.1volts. bigbuck08
For video editing like your doing 4GB would most likely help. Also DDR 800, PC6400, runs at a faster speed than, DDR 667, PC5400. Running 2x2GB would be the best for you and I would suggest these, TWIN2X4096-6400C5DHX . I have a set of these on order now and just noticed Newegg is out of stock. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2008 For Twin2x4096-6400C5DHX? If so then no they will run great on that MB as long as you have a 1066 FSB CPU.
rbradleyc
I apologize for being a little slow, I'm just learning this stuff. I have the Pentium D 920, is this compatible?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 3, 2008 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 3, 2008 Please check with the MB Maker for CPU support but if its a 800 FSB CPU then DDR667 would be suggested.
