incompetent_one
Hi, I want to purchase the CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX ATX12V V2.2 450W Power Supply but I'm unsure if it's compatible with my computer. I'm using a Compaq Presario SR2013WM. I'm not sure what the specs are on my current PSU but I can just type out everything that's on the PSU if necessary. I'd appreciate any and all help. Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2007 I would check the pin out on the Power supply connector and make sure the pins match, but as long as its not made only for that system and they are using a standard ATX 2.X PSU it should work. incompetent_one
How do I find/check those? I don't know much about the hardware on computers and I only discovered what a PSU is yesterday. Thanks
incompetent_one
Ok I'm just going to list everything on my PSU MODEL ATX-250-12Z REV.:D2R INPUT 100-127V-6A , 200-240V-3A OUTPUT +12V / 14A ,,,,,, -12V / 0.8A,,,,, +5V / 25A ,,,,,, +5VSB / 2A peak 2.5A +3.3V / 18A,,,,, +5V & +3.3V 165W MAX. ,,,,, +5V & +12V 218W MAX. Wired
Ram Guy's asking for a diagram that says what each cable on the 20 pin connector is used for. While they may look the same physically, they can be wired differently.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2007 In section 4.4.1 of this Guide it will list the pin outs for the PSU like what we use, just make sure the PSU you have matches and especially pin 20 is not used , if your PSU has that pin its one of the negative voltages that is an older spec and I am sorry but out PSU may not work. incompetent_one
I don't really understand anything thats on that guide so I'm going to try to contact my PC manufacturer. If that doesn't get me anywhere, I'll take another look at the guide. Thanks for the help.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 24, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 24, 2007 OK? No problem, but it might be easier to ask the reseller if they will let you return it if it does not work or just wait till you build a new system.
