akbucks47
I currently just bought a Biostar Motherboard from newegg.com. It said to get memory that is DDR2 667. So I bought CORSAIR DDR2 667mhz 2GB memory. I was looking at the newegg site for specifications of the Biostar Motherboard and a customer said there was a memory problem. So I went to the biostar website and it says it uses DDR2 533. Can I still use the DDR2 667 with a Motherboard that says it supports DDR2 667. How could I do that. Please help. Thanks. bigbuck08
You can still use the RAM but if the motherboard only supports DDR 533 then thats what you will have to run it at.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 19, 2007 There should be a setting in the BIOS for the memory frequency usually under Frequency and Voltage Control, but it would be best to ask the MB maker if its not easy to find. Sorry but I have not seen a BIOSTAR MB in about 8 years.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 20, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 20, 2007 Usually it's called memory or DDR frequency or Ratio!
bigbuck08
If you just leave everything to auto it should run at DDR533.
