Intel DG33tl & twin2x4096-6400c5dhx doesn't post

I read this forum post (http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64356) and also used the memory config tool and noticed it doesn't recommend any ddr2 6400 memory.

according to Intel's site, this board requires memory that operates at 1.8v which this one says it does. when the ram is in the MB it doesn't post at all, but when I remove the ram it posts with an error code, so Intel tech belives the ram is faulty.

is it likely that the board may need some bios update to fully support this ram or could my ram be defective. assuming that somehow this ram can't work with this board, is there any corsair pc6400 ram that can work with this, hopefully in a 4g or 2g kit?

yes, I've tried booting the system with just one of each module in the system and it didn't post. When both modules were in the system it didn't post either. for the sake of testing I removed all memory modules to see what would happen when I tried to boot and the motherboard gave me a memory beep code error, which Intel is saying justifies that the board works and there's a problem with the ram.

i've also tried clearing the mb bios, adjusting the jumper position pretty much everything I could do. reset the processor etc.

I can still return the memory, but before I went that route I wanted to see if I should exchange it for the same one or if there was a problem with this particular ram and board.

yeah it's the ram. I bought some generic ram that allowed me to update the bios, and even with the updated bios the corsair ram wouldn't post. I tried all combos, each one alone and each one paired with the generic ram. when i paired the corsair memory with the generic I got a post error beep that didn't go away until I removed the corsair memory.

My only question now is when I RMA these modules, should i get this exact same type again and just pray this was bad luck or should i consider getting a different model. I know it's possible but I just can't believe that both of the modules I got were doa, yet here I am.
