Ralli
I had 2 Dimm 1 GB 667 mhz Hynixx sticks in my ASUS G1S laptop. The RAM score with the original 2 GB RAM was 4.8. I replaced one of the Hynixx 1 GB RAM with Corsair 2 GB RAM and the score dropped to 4.7. All other scores remain the same. I was expecting the RAM score would improve with the upgrade to 3 GB total from 2 GB. Any reason why this is the case? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 19, 2007 Use CPU-Z and check if the RAM is running in dual channel or single channel.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 19, 2007 In some cases increasing the amount of RAM may not increase benchmarks scores. Most benchmarks scores the ratings mainly on latency and overall response time. When you increase RAM the latency or response coming from the memory controller on the chipset will take longer. Usually it will get a bit slower when you install over 2GB. Also keep in mind even though it is running in dual channel, you have two different types of memory sizes that will cause the memory controller to react slower as well. The only time a user should increase the amount of RAM is when you have a bottle neck when using a specific software or multiple instances that causes your system to utilize more RAM then you currently have.
