Domy
I recently just rma'ed a set of 2gig pc8500 dominator memory and got a new set back. While waiting for the new memory i bought another set of pc8500. I am running 4 gigs at 1066mhz, but the new set i got back from rma runs at 2.15v and the new set i bought runs at 2.1. There different revisions, i have the voltage set at 2.16v and it boots and runs ok, but while gaming my pc has been freezing and i have to hard reboot it every now and then. I first thought it was the nvidia driver, so i downloaded nvidias beta driver, and been playin on that driver for an hour or so and no freezing yet, so i dunno if its because of that. Could it be the different memory revisions doing that? i suppose i can take 2 sticks out and test it that way? its not the cpu overclocking because i set it to normal and still froze. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 18, 2007 I would set the memory frequency at DDR800 and set the NB/MCH Voltage to +.05 Volts and see if that solves the freezing. Also are you using Windows Vista? if so there is a patch you need to install for more the 3 Gig of memory.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 18, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 18, 2007 You'll need to install MS patch 929777 from Microsoft for more than 3 GIG in Win Vista. you can search for it at http://www.microsoft.com.
Domy
Thanks a bunch. I downloaded the 32bit file and installed it but it had a window pop up saying its not for my system, so i was shutting the pc down to take out 2 sticks of memory and then try and run it but as i was shutting down it said "installing update" and it installed, so it used vista installer instead of microsofts installer file. Played for 3 hours strait and no crashes. Thanks again
