bulldog12
I'm sorry to say but this really ticks me off. I thought I was buying the best power supply you could get these days. Hooked everything up and I am getting a LOUD clicking noise from the fan. Is there anything I can do or does this need to be sent back? Thanks in advance for any help. I forgot to add this is a 620HX

EliteKiller
Power off the pc, use a thin/non-conductive item to stop the 120mm fan from spinning, now power the pc back on to see if the clicking persists. Are you hooked up to a UPS? If so try going straight from the psu to the wall socket. What are your pc specs?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 10, 2007 Do the fans spin up in the system or on the PSU? Are you able to test the HX520 in a different system?
bulldog12
Do the fans spin up in the system or on the PSU? Are you able to test the HX520 in a different system? Yep all fans spin up just have a loud clicking sound coming from the power supply. Sounds almost like the fan is hitting something. I remounted the power supply and it stayed the same. I am using an intel 975xbx2kr board with E6600 processor. 2Gb of Kingston DDR2 memory 256 MB EVGA video board Cooler Master Box
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 10, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 10, 2007 Bulldog, I was actually directing that comment towards Tomfurios. However if the clicking is coming from the PSU, then we should have it replaced. Please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Tomfurios
Do the fans spin up in the system or on the PSU? Are you able to test the HX520 in a different system? hello Thanks for response. I have tested the PSU at 2 different system. 1#: all fan does not spin up and system has not started. 2#: all fans are spinning and system started up. But the PSU has a loud clicking noise until I move the PWR connection a little bit up or down. ::eyebuldge I have yesterday spoken with the tech support from my supplier, I can exchange it with a new one. I hope the new one does work correctly. The system which has not started, does hopefully support the atx v.2.01! According search, it does up to vs. 2.03. I awaiting for a response from manufacturer. the MB:(ECS) MSI?? RC410-M vs.1.01 (Asterope-GL8E)
