aceshelman
Hi there, I'm very new to this matching of RAM to a motherboard... I have an ASUS P5LD2 motherboard that says it can handle 400/533/667 speed unbuffered non-ECC RAM. The problem is I bought 800MHz corsair sticks in the form of: CM2X1024-6400C4 which appears to be listed on this site as TWIN2048-6400C4. In any case, is this ram compatible? I couldn't find my motherboard on the list and got such a good deal on this ram that I would rather keep it if possible. I'm asking here rather than just sticking it in and seeing what happens... that can be bad :) Thanks for any help.

But the memory speed will default to DDR2-667 speed due to the chipset specifications.
aceshelman
Yeah most of what I've read is saying the memory will just run at the speed the motherboard determines. If the RAM is running slower than its max speed that's fine with me, the memory was only $44 for 2GB so I didn't waste a bunch of money by buying it rather than 667MHz sticks. Pardon the layman's terms I use.
