saint-francis
I have the 1Gx2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4PRO. The kit has a bad module and it isn't listed on the tech support express. Where do I go from here?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 3, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 3, 2007 Can you describe the issues you are having with the modules? What do you have the memory voltage set to?
saint-francis
The system won't boot if one of the modules is installed by itself. My other system displays the same behavior with the same stick. The system will run with both of the sticks are installed and XP shows that both sticks are present. I have run them at voltages between 1.9 and 1.2 with the same result. I have not overclocked the memory every. The highest I have taken it was to DDR2 801. Even thought the kit is 4-4-4-12 I have the same issues at 5-5-5-15 and with everything set to auto.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 4, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 4, 2007 That does not make sense, the system will post with both modules installed but will not post with both installed is that correct? If so I would get that MB replaced.
saint-francis
I currently have a discussion going about this on the mother board manufacturer's site. We will see what this brings. Edit: I just paid more attention to your post. the system will post with both modules installed but will not post with both installed NO. That is confusing. The system will post with both installed. If I remove the allegedly faulty stick it posts and works like a charm. If I remove the known working stick and only install the other one the system will not post. With Both installed the system will post but I can not reach DDR2 800 without system failure under load.

saint-francis
OK. I just tested them on a different system and it gives me a faulty RAM post code when the stick in question is installed at all so it appears that it's bad or at least going bad. Thanks for your time.
