kelly
I have a Dell Precision360. I bought 4 CM72SD1024RLP-3200 for it. The memory is unrecognized (mobo gives 1-3-1-1 beeps, which means DRAM refresh error, but dell says sometimes means unrecognized memory). I have an RMA from Corsair that says I can return the memory for a new set, but I don't want to get a new set of the same memory if it is a compatibility problem. Dell says this memory is compatible (they sell this exact model if I request it), their specs say ECC memory is fine. One (non-dell) web site says buffered memory may not be ok, another memory vendor says that for 1GB modules I may need PC2700. I tried installing in pairs, but each pair also produced the same problem. Either I have at least a triple failure or the memory is incompatible. Time to resolve the problem is not important - the correct solution is more important. I would rather use ECC memory if possible. Should I see if a replacement set works or give up and request non-ecc/non-registered memory?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2007 I can not find any information that says your system takes registered memory. We do not make any unregistered ECC modules at this time and I would recommend using VS1GB333 (for 4 GB max) or VS512MB400 (for 2GB max). These modules are unregistered non-ECC and should function properly in your system.
