comp_wiz_bit
Hi, Can you please let me know if TWIN2X2048-6400C4 or TWIN2X2048-6400C4D are compatible with Intel BLK DQ965GFEKR motherboard and Intel E6300 (1066MHz FSB) processor? I am new to PC installation and would like to icrease my memory and and its speed to the maximum supported speed of 800Mhz with 2GB memory. I need a module which I can just slip into the slot and forget about it. I do not want hassle of configuring the module etc so as to get what I want out of it. From Itel's website (http://download.intel.com/design/motherbd/gf/D5602101US.pdf) the memory requirements for this board are 1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM DIMMsDDR2 800 DIMMs with SPD timings of only 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 (tCL-tRCD-tRP) I'll appreciate it if you can please let me know if TWIN2X2048-6400C4 is compatible with my system and needs. Also, in-case the above memory is not compatible with my system, can you please let me know which crosair memroy would gove me the performance I need from my PC? Thanks on advance for your time. DerekT
Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets. This is the DRAM that will suit your board. http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX.pdf http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145175 6400C4 is not the DRAM to choose for your board. comp_wiz_bit
Thanks for the response DerekT. Before I make the final purchase though, can you possibly let me know the dimensions of TWIN2X2048-6400C5DHX? I see a few reviewers saying that due to height constraints the modules did not fit properly in their motherboard. As such, I'll rather be a bit cautious before I make the purchase as I cannot return them afterwards. And thanks again for the response.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2007 They are D or DHX modules are taller than normal modules because of the heat spreader design and you need to have 2" of clearance over the modules slots for these modules.
